Many of the top YouTube networks are coming together to form an association called the Global Online Video Association (or GOVA for short). Their goal is to tame the “wild west” of online video a bit by bringing standards and a governing body to YouTube and online video while ensuring that some of those changes are in the best interest of all parties involved. There also may be some unspoken or side benefits, too, for MCNs.
