Small businesses have for a long time been recognised as an important contributor to the well-being of economies. Small businesses may be viewed from one person to a small number engaged in the provision of some product or service perhaps in a niche or local market.
Small businesses tend to be very flexible and can come into existence more easily as compared to middle-size businesses or even large businesses. It may be the case for example that a family business grows and becomes more established as a small business within the economy.
It is important therefore that governments help small business and encouraged them to set up, operation, and grow. They provide employment and training and contribute to the local and national economies.
This video will explore more of these issues.
