In business organisations not everyone is equal post up. Clearly the managers have more power than the shop floor workers, senior managers have more power than the managers, and the chief executive has more power than the senior managers, and it may be possible that shareholders are more powerful than the chief executive.
As you can see there is a power gradient within business organisations. There is also constant manoeuvring by the managers to try to promote themselves to the senior staff in return for more remuneration and more power.
In this class, we’ll deal with power and politics within organisations and this is one of several classes on this theme that we will offer throughout the course.
