In business there is often an intermediary involved in the supply chain. It may be the case that the producer sells directly to the consumer, our customer. However, it is usually the case that intermediaries may be involved. Common examples of this could be warehousing, wholesaling, and other outsourcing facilities. The extent of the use of these facilities is determined by the economics of the relationship, in other words, whether it is profitable or not to do so.
This video will discuss some of the items relevant in the case of intermediaries, it will set down a foundation for subsequent discussions on the course.
