Negotiation Strategies: to achieve mutual agreements:
The purpose of negotiation strategies is to achieve mutual agreements between the parties involved. The outcome of negotiation should represent compromises by all of the parties involved and there should be a genuine attempt at finding an overall agreement.
This is often referred to as purposeful persuasion, in other words, the parties tried to persuade each other of the best route forward to find a negotiated solution. However, the parties must also be prepared to compromise.
The outcome of negotiation should represent the best that the parties to the negotiation can achieve. There should be a willingness on the part of the negotiators to accept the outcome and attempt to make it work.
