Operations Management: Goods Vs Services
This video will look at the distinction between goods and services. When we think of goods we think of something physical something that we made touch. Services by contrast do not have a physical dimension.
Teacups are made in the factory where there will be and operations management who looked after the machinery, the stock of raw material, and the distribution of the final product. Services also provide satisfaction and are also products. For example, a doctor of medicine supplies a valuable service. It is a product that is produced through the skill and knowledge of the doctor.
Therefore, goods and services are both products and therefore we may relate them to operations management. Their marketing and the image they project will reside with marketing specialists.
